The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and Vittoria are pleased to announce that their partnership has been extended to include two new disciplines: BMX Racing and gravel. Vittoria will become Official Partner of the UCI BMX Racing World Championships and the UCI Gravel World Championships for a two-year period (2024-2025).
This marks a new step in the partnership between Vittoria and the UCI, following on from the announcement that the Italian tire and tube manufacturer reinforces its support to the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships by upgrading from Official Partner to Main Partner of the event for 2024 and 2025 (see press release published on 9 April 2024).
The extension of Vittoria’s partnership with the UCI to include BMX Racing and gravel represents an increase in Vittoria’s investment as a key brand within the off-road cycling community, particularly during the UCI World Championships in mountain bike, BMX Racing and gravel. Vittoria offers a complete range of tires for the BMX Racing and gravel disciplines.
The next UCI BMX Racing World Championships will be held in Rock Hill (South Carolina), USA, from 12 to 18 May, while the 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships will be in the Flemish Brabant province, Belgium, on 5 and 6 October.
UCI President David Lappartient said: “We are delighted with Vittoria's reinforced commitment to our off-road disciplines. Already a valued mountain bike partner for the past three years, the Italian manufacturer will now also support BMX Racing and gravel at their respective UCI World Championships. In addition to benefiting these two events, this extension also demonstrates the global appeal of the two disciplines, the former being included in the Olympic Games programme and the latter booming”.
Chairman and CEO of Vittoria Stijn Vriends stated: “We are very pleased to extend our long term partnership with the UCI to the BMX Racing and gravel disciplines. We are thrilled to bring performance and excitement to the races and support riders with our advanced bicycle tire technology!”
