The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announces that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has dismissed the appeal filed by Romanian rider Vlad Dascalu against the decision rendered by the UCI Anti-Doping Tribunal on 21 May 2024.
The CAS confirmed that Mr Dascalu committed an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) and upheld the 17- month period of suspension imposed on him by the UCI Anti-Doping Tribunal (21 May 2024 – 20 October 2025).
Mr Dascalu’s ADRV is due to him committing three whereabouts failures in a 12-month period.
The UCI welcomes this ruling, which reflects its commitment to protecting the integrity of cycling. The CAS award will be published in due time on the UCI website.
The UCI will not comment further on the matter.
