The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships are pleased to announce that this biggest cycling event ever will benefit from an unprecedented level of television production and distribution.
The inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships will combine 13 UCI World Championships in one event taking place in Glasgow and across Scotland from 3 to 13 August. It is the result of a three-year collaboration between the UCI, the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships, its host partners, Scottish Government, Glasgow Life, UK Sport, and key Local Authority partners. The television coverage will surpass that of any previous UCI event.
Eurovision Sport, a division of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), is distributing the event in Europe and IMG in the rest of the world. Together they will be taking the event to more than 120 countries. Eurovision Sport, as the appointed Host Broadcaster, will produce record television coverage: an estimated 240 hours of live and 30 hours news and highlights. In the UK market, there are substantial deals in place with the BBC and British Eurosport for the event.
Cycling fans in countries where the television rights are not available will be able to follow the action on the UCI YouTube channel, giving the event the widest global reach possible.
