The 2022 UCI BMX Racing World Cup will get under way on the weekend of 28 and 29 May with two rounds organised in Glasgow, Scotland (Great Britain). They will provide a foretaste of the 2023 UCI Worlds for the discipline, which will take place at the same venue as part of the first ever UCI Cycling World Championships, an event that will bring together the UCI World Championships for cycling’s different disciplines.
After organising the 2021 UCI BMX Racing World Championships in Papendal, the Netherlands will again welcome the world’s best BMX Racing athletes, this time for the third and fourth rounds of the UCI World Cup.
A few weeks after the 2022 UCI BMX Racing World Championships which will take place in Nantes (France) from 27 to 31 July, the riders will be in South America for the four final rounds of the series, organised in the capital of Colombia, Bogotá.

The UCI specifies that from 1st January 2022, the term “BMX” – discipline that includes the Supercross format – will be replaced by “BMX Racing”. This modification means that the UCI BMX World Championships become the UCI BMX Racing World Championships, and the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup becomes the UCI BMX Racing World Cup. This new terminology aims to facilitate the distinction between BMX Racing and BMX Freestyle, which are two different disciplines.
To this end, BMX Racing events will have a new visual identity integrating this modification (for logos and other event materials) from 2022. On social media, #BMXWorldCup becomes #BMXRacingWC.
