The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is pleased to announce that the 2021 UCI Trials World Championships will take place in Vic, Catalonia (Spain), from 1 to 5 September.
The city of Vic is situated around 70km north-east of Barcelona.
Since 2017, the UCI Trials World Championships have featured on the programme of the UCI Urban Cycling World Championships which, since 2019, also crown the UCI World Champions for BMX Freestyle Park and BMX Freestyle Flatland. However this year, the UCI Urban Cycling World Championships – organised in Montpellier (France) from 4 to 8 June – were exceptionally unable to host the trials competitions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The last time Spain hosted the UCI World Championships for trials was in 2000, when they were held in Sierra Nevada as part of the UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships.
The 2021 UCI Trials World Championships will decide the UCI World Champions in the following categories: Men Elite 20”, Men Elite 26”, Men Junior 20”, Men Junior 26” and Women. The best nation will also be crowned.
From 2022, the UCI Worlds for trials will again be held as part of the UCI Urban Cycling World Championships.
