The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is pleased to announce that Eva Lechner (ITA) and Felipe Orts (ESP) will represent the discipline of cyclo-cross on the UCI Athletes' Commission from September 2025.
Elections for the Commission’s two cyclo-cross representatives (one woman and one man) were scheduled to be held during the 2025 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships taking place in Liévin, France, from 31January to 2 February. However, as Eva Lechner and Felipe Orts were the only cyclo-cross athletes to submit their candidate applications by the deadline of 21 January – and they fulfilled all eligibility requirements -, their nomination on the UCI Athletes’ Commission for the next term is confirmed without an election being necessary.
For other disciplines, the election procedure will be as previously announced: following confirmation of the candidates, the representatives of a discipline are elected by their peers at the 2025 UCI World Championships of the discipline concerned. Only athletes taking part in the UCI World Championships may vote.
The members of the Commission will be elected for a term of four years, starting from the 2025 UCI Congress in Kigali, Rwanda, and running until the 2029 UCI Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark.
