The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) today publishes the list of women’s and men’s professional road teams that have submitted the essential documents (as stipulated in articles 2.13.087, 2.15.069bis, 2.19.106 and 2.16.014bis of the UCI Regulations) for registration for the 2025 season in accordance with UCI Regulations (see below).
Teams had until 15 October 2024 to submit their registration files. These registration files are currently being assessed for compliance with the requirements of the UCI Regulations by the UCI in collaboration with the external auditing firm PwC. This assessment covers various criteria, in particular ethical, financial and administrative.
The teams concerned are divided into four categories: UCI Women's WorldTeams, UCI WorldTeams, UCI ProTeams, and UCI Women's ProTeams, a new category of women’s professional teams being introduced for 2025. This new category brings the structure of women’s professional road teams in line with that of men’s teams. The aim is to strengthen the development of women's cycling by offering an intermediate level between the UCI Women's Continental Teams and the UCI Women's WorldTeams. For this first season, a total of eight women's teams have applied for this category.
In summary, the applications for the 2025 season are as follows:
15 women’s teams for registration as UCI Women’s WorldTeams
8 women’s teams for registration as UCI Women’s ProTeams
18 men’s teams for registration as UCI WorldTeams
17 men’s teams for registration as UCI ProTeams.
It should be noted that some of these teams did not submit all the essential documents before the deadline of 15 October 2024 and are therefore not included in the list published below. However, they have the possibility of regularising their situation before the end of the registration procedure, thereby enabling them to be registered for the 2025 season. In accordance with the provisions of the UCI Regulations, and subject to other applicable regulations, the riders of the teams concerned may terminate their contracts early, this right being extinguished in the event of subsequent registration of the team.
The final list of teams registered for the 2025 season will be published by the UCI on 10 December 2024, at the end of the registration procedure.
