Design the UCI World Champion rainbow jersey of the future: UCI and Santini launch a design competition

The UCI and its partner Santini Cycling are pleased to announce the launch of a design competition entitled ‘Design the UCI World Champion rainbow jersey of the future’.

Open to all – graphic designers, design enthusiasts or simply cycling fans – the competition will start tomorrow (20 September) and end on Sunday 29 September at 23:59 CET.

Fans will be invited, both via social networks and at Santini stands set up at various event locations during the 2024 UCI Road and Para-cycling Road World Championships (to be held in Zurich, Switzerland, from 21 to 29 September), to submit their vision of how the iconic jersey could evolve.

Participants are encouraged to unleash their creativity while respecting the tradition of the jersey’s signature rainbow stripes. The only design requirement is to maintain the current five colours — blue, red, black, yellow, and green — in their traditional sequence.

To participate, designers can access the official template online and submit their proposals by the specified deadline.

The best design will be chosen by a jury comprising UCI Director General Amina Lanaya, UCI Brand and Design Manager Fabio Zeppetella, CEO of Santini Cycling Monica Santini, Santini Marketing Director Paola Santini, and professional cyclist Elisa Balsamo.

The winner will be notified by e-mail on Thursday 10 October and the winning jersey, featuring the winning design, will be produced as a unique item by Santini. It will be sent to the winner along with some exclusive products from the Santini x UCI line.
