Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic linked to the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) regrets to announce that the last two rounds of the 2020 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup, which were to take place in Rock Hill (USA) on 6 and 7 November, have been cancelled at the request of their organiser.
The UCI and the organiser collaborated throughout the process, firstly postponing the two rounds that were initially scheduled for 15 and 16 May 2020, before resorting to taking the difficult decision to cancel them. The UCI shares the disappointment of the BMX Racing community, and acknowledges the efforts made by the organisers and the city of Rock Hill in these difficult circumstances.
Following the cancellation of the Rock Hill rounds, the final rankings of the 2020 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup have been calculated based on the only events raced this season, in Shepparton, Australia (first and second rounds of the series for men and women) and in Bathurst (third round of the series for men only, as the other races could not take place for safety reasons due to bad weather conditions). Connor Fields (USA) wins the trophy in the Men’s competition, while fellow American Alise Willoughby is the Women’s winner.
