1-2 February | Bathurst (Australia)
What happened
High winds meant that, for the safety of riders, most of Round 3 and all of Sunday’s Round 4 of the 2020 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup had to be cancelled. Only the Elite Men managed to race their qualifying heats in Round 3 before the event was called off. The results were established based on the times they recorded in their heats, with American Connor Fields taking honours ahead of Kye Whyte (GBR) and Corben Sharrah (USA).
In Saturday’s last heat, Australian Kai Sakakibara suffered a head injury during a fall – unrelated to the weather – on the second corner and was taken to Canberra hospital where he was reported to be in a critical but stable condition.
