Each year, the UCI Mobility & Bike City Forum brings together cycling leaders, advocates, mobility experts, National Federations, industry representatives and policy makers to exchange on the future of active mobility.
The programme for the 2023 edition has been published on the UCI website. The Forum will include the award of the UCI Bike City Label to cities and regions that will join the already 22-strong network. It will also be the occasion for the UCI to launch its 2022 UCI Sustainability Report, a first for our International Federation, telling the story of past, present, and future actions which will contribute to making cycling the most sustainable sport. The report unveils the UCI’s carbon footprint, reduction plan and global 2030 Sustainability Strategy.
After an official welcome from UCI President David Lappartient, the Flemish Minister for Mobility and Public Works Lydia Peeters, and the President of the Belgian Cycling Federation (Royale Ligue Vélocipédique Belge) Tom Van Damme, a series of experts will present on diverse topics, including:
Cycling and climate change
Cycling as a catalyst for social inclusion
The launch of the CycleRAP Report by International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP), followed by a panel on innovation in road safety
Innovation in public policy with a presentation from Daniel Mes, Member of the Cabinet of Executive Vice-President for the European Green Deal, Frans Timmermans, European Commission.
The keynote address will be given by Belgian para-cyclist, UCI World Champion and Paralympic medallist, Ewoud Vromant.
